NYCBI Serukan Boikot Produk Motorola

.... i Believe ...

I believe for every drop of rain that falls

A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
To show the way
I believe, I believe

I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word

Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

*** wherever you are ...

“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”

PLO buka Warung Bakso ?

buka mp pagi-pagi
seseorang yang bukan kontak saya
tanpa permisi dan basa-basi
tanpa mengucapkan salam
nulis ke guestbook
dengan kalimat

"Ahmadinejad bukan Islam!"

pake tanda seru bo ...

wah, what is the meaning of maksud nih orang
melihat dari headshotnya
kayaknya dia simpatisan sebuah partai Islam

saya cuma Innalilllahi wa inna illaihi roji'un

selama belajar Islam
saya tidak pernah menemukan
Islam mengajarkan umatnya untuk membenci non-Muslim
kecuali non-Muslim itu memusuhi dan menganiaya kita

Rasulullah saja,
pernah menyuapi seorang Yahudi buta

Dibawah kekhalifahan Islam
semua penganut agama dihormati
dan dilindungi

jadi so what kalo pun seandainya Ahmadinejad
atau siapapun yang bukan Islam
tapi perilakunya mulia
bahkan mengangkat derajat umat Islam?

jadi, maaf ya my brother
kalau saya membalas tulisan Anda di guestbook saya
dengan kalimat yang (mungkin) rada pedes ...

Enam Tahun Setelah Kematian Rachel Corrie

orrie mengungkapkan kenangannya tentang Corrie.

Misteri Friday the 13th

Gedung bertingkat misalnya, meniadakan lantai ke-13.

Chilli Peppers For Sleepy Drivers

Police in the southwestern Chongqing region in China has unique way to minimize road accidents caused by sleepy driver. They are supplying drivers with chilli peppers to prevent them from falling asleep while they are driving.

The Police at highway service stations have handed out a total 1.5 kg chilli peppers to drivers in just nine days. They started this idea after two sleepy drivers from Hunan asked the peppers to keep them awake. However, Chongqing is well known with its spicy cuisines so chilli peppers are essential ingredient in the region.

Chinese roads are the most dangerous in the world. Driving in China is like a game of chicken in the middle of the road with many vehicles coming. There are many big trucks refusing to give a way to smaller vehicles, switch lanes without signaling, driving down in the middle of the road at night and frequently ignoring traffic lights.

No wonder the deaths in road accidents in China is in the ranking first in the world. In 2008, there are almost 73,500 people died and 300,000 wounded in traffic accidents in China.

By handing out the chilli peppers to drivers, China is expecting to decline the road accidents caused of sleepy drivers. So, you may try it when you fell sleepy on the wheel.

-QuoTe of the DaY-

When someone criticises or disagrees with you, a small ant of hatred and antagonism is born in your heart. If you do not squash that ant at once, it might grow into a snake, or even a dragon.

Jummu'ah Mubarokah and Happy Weekend for Everyone

"Closed Zone", Empathy for Gaza

Israeli animator Yoni Goodman created a short film entitled "Closed Zone" for NGO Gisha, a group devoted to freedom movement which calls Israel to open fully all Gaza crossings and lift blockade in Gaza.

The film is depicting the combination of animation and real-life scenes of a boy in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli blockade of the coastal territory. About the film Goodman said that it was very important for him to create a character that anyone can connect to.

"I hope that when people see the movie, they will be able to detach themselves from the automatic view of good or bad. People talk about Hamas, but there are many civilians there who are not Hamas supporters but who are suffering from this blockade," Goodman said.

He added that through this film he wants people in the West seeing  that there are people in Israel who are against war, who want peace. "I think many people see Israel as an aggressive country, but this is not my Israel," He said.

Goodman was a the animation director for Ari Foldman's "Waltz with Bashir" which won a Golden Globe for best foreign film and a nomination for an Academy Award in the same category.

Celebrating Prophet's Birthday, Permissible Or Not?

it's still controversial among muslims whether or not it's allowed to celebrate Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him)' birthday. Some people said it's not permissible and consider it as bid'ah or an innovation, but many people who think it's permissible commemorating Prophet's birthday with special celebration including muslims in Indonesia.

Alhamdulillah, Indonesia government specified Prophet Muhammad's birthday as a big red letter day, so this year we all have a long weekend till Monday coz Prophet's birthday fall on that day. Have a nice long weekend for everybody ...

back to the main topic whether or not it's permissible for muslims celebrating Prophet's birthday, i read a good article about it on Islamonline. Syaikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a prominent Muslim scholar, head of the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR),and the president of the International Association of Muslim Scholars (IAMS) gives his opinion about celebrating Rasulullah Muhammad (PBUH)' birthday and how Muslim should celebrating it.

Here is what he says;

We all know that the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate the Prophet's birthday, Hijrah or the Battle of Badr, because they witnessed such events during the lifetime of the Prophet who always remained in their hearts and minds.

Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas said that they were keen on telling their children the stories of the Prophet's battles just as they were keen on teaching them the Qur'an. Therefore, they used to remind their children of what happened during the Prophet's lifetime so they did not need to hold such celebrations. However, the following generations began to forget such a glorious history and its significance. So such celebrations were held as a means of reviving great events and the values that we can learn from them.

Unfortunately, such celebrations include some innovations when they should actually be made to remind people of the Prophet's life and his call. Actually, celebrating the Prophet's birthday means celebrating the birth of Islam. Such an occasion is meant to remind people of how the Prophet lived.

Allah Almighty says: (Verily in the Messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the last Day, and remembereth Allah much.) (Al-Ahzab 33: 21)

By celebrating the Prophet's Hijrah, we should teach people values such as sacrifice, the sacrifice of the Companions, the sacrifice of `Ali who slept in the Prophet's place on the night of the Hijrah, the sacrifice of Asma' as she ascended the Mountain of Thawr. We should teach them to plan the way the Prophet planned for his Hijrah, and how to trust in Allah as the Prophet did when Abu Bakr told him: We could be seen so easily, the Prophet replied saying: "O Abu Bakr! What do you think of two when Allah is their third?" (Have no fear, for Allah is with us.) (At-Tawbah 9: 40)

We need all these lessons and such celebrations are a revival of these lessons and values. I think that these celebrations, if done in the proper way, will serve a great purpose, getting Muslims closer to the teachings of Islam and to the Prophet's Sunnah and life.

As for celebrating `Ashura’, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), celebrated this day by fasting only. He asked the Jews why they fasted on that day and they told him that it was the day that Allah saved Moses and the people of Israel. The Prophet replied saying: "We have more of a right to Moses than you." So he fasted on that day and ordered the people to fast on that day. He also said near the end of his life: "By Allah, if I lived longer I would fast on the 9th of Muharram." That is, that he would fast on the 9th and the 10th in order to be different from the Jews who fast on the 10th only. However, some of the Sunnis celebrate `Ashura as if it were a feast. The Shi`ah consider it a day of sadness and mourning, but all such things are innovations and are completely un-Islamic.

the exact date of the Prophet's birth is controversial, but it is most likely to be on Monday, 9th Rabee` Al-Awwal (20th or 22nd of April, 571 AC), the same year in which the invasion of the Elephants took place against the Ka`bah. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away on Monday 12, Rabee` Al-Awwal in the eleventh year of Hijrah (8 June 632 AC.)

So let's celebrate our Prophet Muhammad's birthday as such a great event by reading more about the Prophet's Sunnah and life, doing charity work that remind us of the Prophet's life and his struggle and to show our love to him.

for more scholars speak on the prophet's birthday you can take a look at www.islamonline.net

Thinking Out of The Box

This is a story about my nephew, Faishal and a new baby sitter who just work for two days in my sister's house (Faishal's mother). As a new one, she doesn't know a lot Faishal's character. He is a five-year old energetic young boy and is very talk-active. He is sometimes talking and thinking about something beyond my belief that i thought it will not come from the kids at his age. He often thinks out of the box-i don't know what other people say- that is amazed me many times and make me smile.

It happened when Faishal did his homework and was accompanied by that new baby sitter. It is written on his homework that he had to find at least ten of water utility in our daily life. Firstly, Faishal said that we can use water for wudhu ( ritual ablution before prayer ).

"good, Faishal ..." the baby sitter said.  "And then what else ...?" asked her.

Faishal spontaneously said ... "to wash the aeroplane ... !" he said that words enthusiastically.

"what ....?! washing aeroplane?!"  the nanny said with greatly amased.

"Isn't that too big Faishal?" the nanny asked him again.

"no ...  we can use water for washing aeroplane, can't we?" Faishal arguing.

"sure ... we can. But it's too big Faishal ... why not motorcycle or bike instead of aeroplane ..." the nanny said again.

Faishal and his nanny were arguing for awhile. at the end, Faishal agree to put "to wash motorcycle" as the answer for his homework.

I just smile to hear Faishal choosing "aeroplane" . Again, he choose something bigger beyond my thought. He is always thinking out of the box and this is not a first time i learn from the way of he is thinking ...
